Swim w/ Miss Julyann

Lizzy and Markie swam this morning with Julyann, their ISR swim teacher for the last 5 summers, she now teaches them strokes. Markie worked on his freestyle and side breathing and Lizzy worked on freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke. They had a lot of fun and got a lot accomplished in a short block of time. Private swim lessons are great. We got off to an early start, our lesson starts at 8. Bella had fun watching, she already has her swim float down great from her lessons in May. We go all this week. Markie and Lizzy both already are saying they want to do a swim team next summer.

My Birthday

My birthday was last Sunday, July 6. I had a great day. Started with church in the morning, came home to lots of presents from the kids, a bathing suit, a blender/food processor, a book, a CD of workout music, and most randomly a sonic toothbrush. Yes, they went shopping at costco. Anyways, then I headed to the mall with my sister and a few friends and shopped and went to lunch, then that night went to Oreganos with Lizzy, Markie, Ben and Mark. (Bella is too wild right now for a restaurant, so we traded her for Ben.) It was a lot of fun, we sat outside and sweated, the misters were not working as good as they said they were. Then over to Kim's for cake and ice cream. Kim's friend Debbie was in town from L.A. and she actually stayed at my house, (more room) so that was fun too. It just reminded me of how much room we have for visitors but I think we scared everyone away, because we haven't had any out of town guests for a while. I swear I do clean the bathroom..... anyways, it was a great birthday. Now every day that passes just brings me closer to leaving my 30's. Although I wouldn't trade my 30's for anything, those are the years that gave me three beautiful children, I gained and lost a lot of weight, I guess I am ready for all that to be behind me. I hope by my big birthday next year I will have changed my last diaper, Bella got off the bottle cold turkey the other day, so I know I won't be cleaning any more bottles. Cabo San Lucas May of 09 if anyone wants to joing Mark and I in bringing in the big one. I am going to be firming up the date soon, will keep everyone posted.

Soccer video

This is a clip I got at the beginning of one of the days of soccer camp. You can see a little of Ben's "natural ability". Why is it the ones with the natural talent have little interest in it?

Spokane Fireworks

I had to work over the fourth. I got a great layover in Spokane for the fourth. We got in in time for the 10:00 fireworks show. It was right outside our hotel. It was a great show.

Swim & Soccer Camp

This past week Lizzy did a two hour a day swim camp where they swam laps and worked on strokes and had some fun playing water games too. She learned the breast stroke and the butterfly. There were only four girls in the class and Lizzy had a great time. She came away with a little bit of a tan too, which is her first for the summer since we normally go in our pool at dusk. Kim says she looks like she was on vacation in the Carribean.
Then in the afternoons Lizzy, Markie and Ben did a three hour soccer camp. They had fun, although Lizzy has decided she does not really like soccer too much. The coach told Kim Ben has natural ability and is very fast. He enjoyed the camp but again says he is not interested in sports. Markie was a little young for the camp, but I think he enjoyed being with Lizzy and especially Ben. Both of the camps were held at our gym, so at least it got me in the gym a lot, no excuse not to work out. I also enjoyed the pool with Markie and Bella a couple of days. It was a hot week, temps topped 115.
