Markie and Bella

Markie and Bella also sat through the meet today, so it wouldn't be right to not include a picture of them. Markie has caught a touch of what I had and had a bit of a fever, but he too was a trooper and went and watched his sister. Bella enjoyed Lizzy on her floor routine so much she wanted to go join her and Mark had to give it his all to hold her back.

What a week!

Yikes, it has been over a week since my last post. Unfortunately I have been sick most of the last week, like really sick I don't ever get this kind of sick, go to urgent care, stay in bed, type of sick. Starting to feel a little teensy better. Drug myself to Lizzy's gymnastic meet because that is what mothers do. So, here is a video of her today. I was so proud of her when she had to vault with Derek as the coach, which she wasn't too thrilled about, only to get her highest score ever on any event, 8.75!!! I was proud of her when she missed her dismount on beam and remembered to get right back up and finish it right. I was proud of her when she nailed her floor routine and got her highest score there, can't remember 8. something. But I was most proud of her when she sat and watched all the medals awarded and didn't even look a little upset when she didn't win a single medal. She bounced out of the meet happy that she had done her best. That is what I am most proud of, for in today's world where everyone is taught they are a winner, and often winners and losers of teams get trophies, my daughter learned that she does not need to be on a medal stand to enjoy a good day doing what she loves with her friends, gymnastics.

Our hero

Our house was robbed some time yesterday, and they took the Wii, Mark's laptop and a few other things, they left in a hurry, my digital camera still on the kitchen counter, the Wii antenna piece ripped off and left in the door. They were staging to take it all, desktop computer was unplugged, pictures were off the stereo, and then they took off. Mark thinks Millie woke up in the bathroom where she sleeps when they walked down the hallway into the kid's rooms and started barking and scratching her way out of the batchroom. Then Zelda probably started barking too. Maybe Millie snapped at them. She does have a ferocious bark. We figured out late last night that they took Markie's portable dvd player out of his bedroom. That is the second time it has been stolen in the last three months. In January Mark's car got broken into in our driveway and it was taken. This was the replacement. Poor Markie. Mark said his face was crushed when he found out they took the Wii. Lizzy was very stressed out until Millie resurfaced. I guess she was out back when they got home and discovered the burglary and it took them a few minutes to find her. The CSI truck was at our house for quite some time dusting for prints and who knows what else. I am currently in Boise on a layover. I was on ground time in Seattle when Mark called my cell with the news that our house was robbed and the cops were clearing it and he was in the driveway with all the kids. Everything always happens when I am on the road. Oh, in case you are wondering, they also left my new ds right on the kitchen counter. YES! Thanks for scaring them away Millie, our hero. Extra biscuits for you when I get home tonight!

DS Crazy

Well, things are getting a little out of hand. It is like a have a book I can't put down. Kim just stopped by for a few rounds of brain age, I have to say I hit an all time high on the number memory game with 13, kicking Kim's butt. Thanks to Lizzy for letting Kim borrow her ds as she has not gotten one yet. So we are all going a little ds crazy right now. Now I know why they can't keep the systems in stock. The laundry will have to wait for tommorow, I have got to go play....

My new toy

Well, why not? Why should my kids have all the fun? I got a white ds and Lizzy set it all up for me. Amazing when a 7 yr old can quickly set up your new electronic devices. As quick as she could she took it out of the box and started pressing buttons and firing questions at me, what do you want for your screen name? Time? Date? Birthdate? Before I knew it we were playing my new brain age 2 game. That is what I have decided might help save my brain. Somehow Lizzy and I were playng "download" on both our ds's. I am proud to say I beat my daughter 2 out of 3 rounds of number memory, word scramble and change countback. The next game I want is called "cooking mama". Maybe the Easter Bunny will bring it.

My video of my Bella girl

I cannot believe I PULLED THIS OFF! I created this video in my hotel room on my layover in Sacramento after a loong 5 leg day on the plane, then managed to get online wireless which involved calling the front desk twice and having them reboot their wireless for my weak signal, THEN I loaded this video onto my blog. It worked the very first time I did it. Last time I posted video of Lizzy it took about 20 tries. And if anyone out there thinks I am ignoring Markie, my next post is dedicated to him, but now it is very very late & I must sleep.

Bella loves chocolate pudding!

Bella turns 19 months old on Sunday. She is really turning into quite a character. She is almost always laughing and in a great mood. She is getting quite opinionated, her favorite word some days is NO. She went to the doctor on Wed. and weighs 26.6 pounds. Only the 75th percentile, I knew she would be my petite one! Markie and Lizzy just love her to death, the favorite spot in the car is the seat next to Bella. Lizzy can now get Bella out of her car seat and carry her into the house. Having three kids instead of two kids and a baby is an adjustment for me, now I truly am a mommie of three. I love having three kids and the craziness of it all! Plus, now I am down to that last ten pounds from having Bella! Maybe someday I will get my brain cells back too! Anyone that has kids knows what I mean!

The seven year olds

Sarah, Cindy and Lizzy are the only seven year olds on the team. They are doing amazing! I don't know very many seven year olds that can get out there in front of judges by themselves and perform routines like they do!

Lizzy on floor 3/1/08

Lizzy on bars

Well, after many attempts to publish a video from the meet, I cannot get it to work and will just post more pictures. All four of her events she scored in the 8's wit an all around of 32.85. This was by far her best scoring meet. She did not win any medals as the competition in her age group was tough. She had a great time.

Lizzy watching her teammates

Lizzy enjoys watching her teammates a lot!

Bella smiling at the meet

Bella had fun at the meet too! She is finally starting to smile for the camera. She tried to run out on the floor a couple of times, I hope this doesn't mean she is going to follow her sister into gymnastics. Don't get me wrong, I love watching Lizzy, but I think it would be fun to watch Bella do something else. Maybe she will just like riding her bike and playing on the swingset.
